I am fine with that. Every time a Christian Church funds, equips, trains someone, and sends them to kill, we call them Christian Extremists. Find me one Christian Church that has done this. How many Masques do I need find to prove my point? 1, 5, 10, 100? |
Mafoo, even the heads of the church, the president of the USA (the head of country) , the director of the pharmacy i work in.......they dont get to have their thoughts/idea transfered telekenetically to MY brain and osul.
Just because corrupt men reach a position of power on earth it doesnt change the basis of the religion and give you or anyone the right to immediately lump innocent individuals with a level head and a pure heart in with them. It is simply not fair and illogical.
Religion transcends mortal beings a way that everyone can (see: should) take something personal from its scripture....as you say in your analogy with the Catholic church, i dont find it a fault with Catholicism, sure the heads of the church were corrupt, evil and sinister men but the RELIGION transcends those earthly corrupt beings.
Im completely agnostic, but i appreciate and respect what people pull from faith, the text is there for anyone to read, interpret or pull whatever they individually get out of it. Just because on earth we have corrupt people in modern day using the holy pedestal of the Islamic faith to do horrible things, it doesnt make the Religion evil, simply those corruptable MEN/HUMANS who weaseled their way to a position of power, the same way as molestation in the Catholic church doesnt fall on the religion itself, only the corrupt people in power.
I'm not sure if youre just taking the easy shock value way out, havent thought about it enough to hold this debate or simply just buy into the hatred that we as Americans are being spoon fed, but you simply cannot isolate, even the leaders of the church who are human beings, corruptable and tempted by sin, to simply override the ACTUAL teaching of the religion. So using loose terms to blanket all believer of th eIslamic faith, regardless of those corrupt in positions of power, is not only inappropriate but in the context of what religion/faith is, is simply wrong.
