The mosque in my opinion is absolutely fine. There are plenty of other places of worship around the ground zero. Also, the area around ground zero is home to several liqour stores and strip clubs - not exactly 'sacred ground' people try to make it out to be.
It's nothing wrong with a mosque being there.
Burning a koran though... let's just say if the muslims burned a bible people would be ready to get violent. The burning of the Koran is a much bigger offense than a controversy of where a place of worship should be built.
