Edit: I see your link. According to the wikipedia article on Halo 3 marketing the total cost came to more than $40 million. Also according to this the Believe campaign was estimated at more than $10 million alone. Conflicting figures it seems. As for other marketing pushes as far as I can remember Ratchet and Clank had a £1m push in the UK. The launch budget for MW2 worldwide was a whopping $200 million. But that included packaging, marketing, producing and distributing the discs etc. Left4Dead had a $10m marketing budget. The second had a $25m push. Actually I think I might make a thread on this. |
CORRECT HALO 3 would have had alo bigger than just $6.5m.its too small
plus the extra spent to market bundles and other giveaways later in the life-cycle of HALO 3
MW2 had a $160m campaign,Activision said it themselves that $40m was the game's budget and the rest $160m were for marketing for a total cost of $200m
all these games like GTA,HALO,COD have big campaign.no other way would you get these big pre-orders and first week sales
