it's an eastern thing, very similar to our marching competitions. Now the east has a different cultural mentality, one based on fitting into the group as opposed to being an individual like what we have in america. So it's not surprising that we have competitions that test this out. That said, I thought that it would be stupid but it looked pretty cool
