Ubisoft did Your Shape with Jenny McCarthy on the Wii last year. It came with a USB camera.

I think most people who thought Kinect Your Shape was revolutionary or only possible with Kinnect when they saw it during the MS E3 presentation simply weren't aware of the original game.

As far as I can tell, the additional advantages of Kinect over a regular web cam either aren't used, or simply aren't necessary for something like Your Shape.

My wife bought it months ago for $30. It seems to work pretty well. At the beginning it tells a few of the things you want to avoid to help the camera to read your movement.

It kind of came and went with little fanfare, leading to heavy discounting.

Of course maybe I didn't know about it when it was announced because other than Wii Fit, I have had little interest in fitness games and don't really follow upcoming releases.

But it sounds like for $30, you have a product that basically works as advertised? Fair assessment?

Which kind of raises the question of why someone would pay $200 for Your Shape Kinect (a $50 game that requires a $150 peripheral), when a functional camera that works for Your Shape is essentially being given away with the Wii version.
