She is of Uruguayian/Japanese and Mexican heritage. She is also a naturalized Mexican. As you can tell by the "Kite" commercial she identifies herself as Mexican. When any media report on her, they refer to her as Mexican. She says she is Mexican. 

My point is that she's not Mexican in the sense that she's not of mulatto descent, it's like saying Salma Hayek is Mexican when she in fact is an inmigrant.

Not everyone in Mexico are mestizo or mulatto. You have pure blood Europeans as well as other mixes including Asians. Then you have pure blood Indigenous people and African people. It's like saying Bill Gates is not American. Salma Hayek was born to a Mexican mom and Lebanese dad and she was born in Mexico. The same applies to other Latin American countries. My Mexican friend has red hair and freckles and he is white skinned, is he not Mexican because of that?
