Actually, I've been thinking about it for a while.
Gaming today is quite different from what it used to be back in the 90's.
I assumed all the FPS love shown in video games these days, specially in the US, has a lot to do with their foreign politics in the last decade and how that impacts in its society and its culture. At some point I think it helps to legitimize warfare as a mean of solving political issues.
And it's a fact well known that the most FPS oriented console out there is the XBOX 360. It is also a well know fact - or at least, a well spread prejudice - that the most warfare oriented political party in the US is the Republican one.

This is not intented to offend anyone. It's just my opinion.
