This is extremely extremely disappointing, however I want to see how the EU one will proceed if it ever ended up getting together.

Lets hope they bring the right arguments. But, they shouldnt try to profit from the situation either. They should ask for something reasonable and consequent to their problem, like getting a free slim PS3 for everyone in the class action. Why would you ask for big sum of money when you simply need another PS3. Its not like Sony were making you loose your career or reputation.

If "other OS" would be a problem for me, I would send Sony Canada a formal notice with proof of purchase of the original PS3 to provide me with a PS3 slim or else I would take legal action to get one. I would never ask for damage and interest of 500$ plus, thats not consequent and its trying to profit from a bad situation (Sony getting hacked).

Anyway, I hope they win since this create a bad precedant. But, I think they will loose because of what they are asking. Seems to me that most wants to get money for something that doesnt cause them prejudice to begin with.
