I'm glad someone in here is using their brain. It's "optional" alright. You have the option of not having access to PSN and new games or keeping Other OS. In the otherwords, it's not really optional.

Dont forget that some were talking about this particular case. The plaintiff didnt brought any issue about not being able to play games he wanted to play. He actually already did the update in order to keep PSN. Could have a been a different decision if the plaintiff had requested compensation for something included with his PS3 purchase, like playing regular PS3 games.
