I disagree. I think the future of videogames is videogame systems that just play videogames.
If I waned a system that coupld play games, act as a high def player and have all sorts of other crazy features i'd just hook a computer up in my living room.
Mutli-function products usually stay niche and don't expand the market, so they stay on as gimmics while focused products tend to hit a larger audience.
