Well... actually Killzone2 was developed on those standards. Killzone3 is 720 and 60FPS technically because of 3D. Even if it is 30FPS [which it likely will be, they've said themselves that staying at constant 60 is difficult but a solid 30 thanks to their improvements because of 3D wouldn't be], that's still damn impressive. They're fixing everything people complained about Killzone 2 on the technical front. Input lag, no load screens similar to what was done in Uncharted 2 and GoW3 [likely only in single-player though but would be cool if they found a way to make multiplayer seemless], larger areas [10x what killzone 2 was capable of according to them], all while still improving visuals.

OT: I don't see what's wrong with this. It's not like they gave this statement for all their games. Before KZ2 releases they said themselves they were using 60% of the SPU load.
