The cycle is now complete young Skywalker. You are now ready to take your fathers place. The exact element you are bitching about has already existing parallels in the gaming movements. You think you see a Train Wreck? heck PS1 was a Trainwreck was older gamers and the NES was a trainwreck for PC gamers and the mass electronic games are train wreck for table top gamers.
It's simple industries evolve. The transition time of evolution of the industry is disruptive. Those who enjoyed the "peak" of the industry often don't like the transition and the future. As an example your a casual gamer to me. You came in at the height of an old generation of easier games or a set of values that are easier to get into. Where as my gaming era is table top. More time investment and much older. It's also smaller.
Here is what I suggest. Take your post, take my post and save them in MANY different spots. Then in 20 15-20 years review what you wrote here and listen to the future gamers. You will see the same parallel of bitching. However when that times comes you as a gamer will have also matured to appreciate the next transition and what it brings. Though 20 years is a damned long time to care.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
