Obviously confidence and sense of humor are important, but it is just as important to make sure you don't fall into the friend category. Often girls decide if they would ever want to sleep with you soon after meeting you so if you start out with some innocent flirting, it will help her not treat you like a brother/friend. Also be careful not to put yourself in creepy category so don't be weird and immature.
