Just because overpopulation is a problem Over There doesn't mean it can't cause serious problems for the whole world. The green revolution is unravelling in India due to unsustainable agricultural practices. What happens when a state armed with nuclear weapons can no longer feed a billion hungry mouths?
The economic challenges of a stagnant population are serious, too, but given our finite world, I see countries like Japan as leading the charge on problems that all nations will have to face eventually. Germany doesn't seem to be having nearly as much trouble with their stagnant population.
