the weapons and gunplay were more generic than I had anticipated.

I played the demo a little more today and I definitely agree with this. Playing games like KZ2/BC2 are likely to change anyone's standards of what "good gunplay" is. The guns in those games are loud, beefy, have a weighted feel, and really grab you by the balls with their sound (especially with a decent subwoofer).

The guns in Vanquish do feel abit wimpy and generic. There's your stanard assault rifle, which like in many games comes with a shit ton of ammo like they're expecting you to use it alot (boring and done way too much in shooters). The LMG has pretty much no "oomph" to it even though it's an.....LMG. Then there's the ordinary standard shotgun.

Actually though, if you play the weapons section in the tutorial, there's a blade-launching wep which is pure awesome so hopefully the full game has more crazy guns like that. For the most part, all guns in shooters (even in those that take place in the near future),  function pretty much the same. It's getting old really =/

I'm probably making a big deal out of all this but any game that's primarily a shooter should have quality gunplay, especially if there's not really any non-gun gadgets to fidget around with. It'd be like making a Gran Turismo game where the cars feel like paperweight.

Still though, pretty fun game. Would've been insane to see it in 60fps  : O
