This doesn't surprise me at all. I just bought a new monitor... a Samsung. I chose a new TV for my girlfriend... a Samsung. In the next six months, I'll be looking at a new television purchase... probably a Samsung. They're kicking everyone's ass in the price vs. specs category. No way would I even consider a Sony at this point... they're at least $500 more for similar tech.
PS. I'm still convinced that 3D is a fad. Unless the tech becomes seamless, works with everything, and doesn't require glasses, the masses are not going to buy into it. I know I'm not.
