Actually samsung released 3D TVs in 2007...

Weren't really mainstream in the Best Buy add until this Spring though. That's when the 3D rush began for all companies

lol I bought mine in Best buy in 2008.

They sold 700,000 3D capable sets in 2008 in the US. I would say that is pretty substantial -
