Lol they only increased the price in the markets where they were absolut sure that the customers would accept an even higher price.
I hope for all the Xbox Live user that there will never be a time were Sony drops out of the market and MS has the whole core market and a monopol on core online gaming. Because then they could charge everything.
But I think chances are that online gaming will also cost with Sony a lot if they rule the market. Now Sony uses the no online gaming fee against MS and MS wouldnt dare to make a huge increase like 100 Dollar per year because they would loose customers to Sony.
Eventually if Nintendo is finally able to make the right Hardware for both markets core and casual maybe they will build up a comparable service to PSN and Xbox Live and wont charge for online gaming because they print money anyway.
