So competition is good, as long as it is competing against microsoft?

Why on earth would someone choose a crappy linux OS or OSX instead of the superb windows 7 just because of "some steam love"? Windows is clearly superior product for all gamers and maybe some day GFWL will be bigger than steam too. That would be sweet!

Windows is superion only because that's the platform games are released on. You wouldn't think so if the games were released on Linux or Mac instead. GfWL sweet? Did you hit your head or something?

Anyway, I for one am tired with all the problems I'm having with Windows. Well, it's not that many problems but I find it very annoying how the system gets slower every day. And I haven't measured that exactly, but it definitely affects games too. I wouldn't call it superior.

So... windows get all the games and you are annoyed by that? Too bad for you. GFWL > steam.

I think posting this is going to be pointless since your obviously blinded by false logic but here goes.

Linux can be far superior for people who have a good background in programming. The OS distros are normally we faster, can be made to be more feature rich, and supports functionality that Windows 7 (and from what has been see Windows 8) doesn't have. Just because there is a very small number of games available currently doesn't mean that Windows 7 is superior. For business, servers, and more advance use it far exceeds the capabilities for Windows or Mac.

Now OSX has gained quite a bit of gaming support thanks to Steam. Its interface is very user friendly, but limiting to terms of capability. General users who can afford a Mac, and has no PC knowledge is better off with a Mac then a Windows machine since everything is way more straight forward. Its also a faster OS then Windows. It loads applications like Office 2008, Adobe Photoshop CS4, etc. a lot faster. Its more of a productivity OS then anything else. Its not meant for advanced coders, business, or server use. If you plan on doing homework, graphic design, etc or have no PC knowledge at all, this is typically the OS of choice.

Windows is the middle ground where most people fit in. It comes with some learning curve. It allows a decent platform for programmers, designers, and students. You have tons of programs to use. A strong background for gaming. There is even a new influx of hardware accelerated programs that are pushing some pieces of software applications faster then their Mac counterparts. The issue is that Windows tends to be buggier then Mac, more virus prone, and as stated above, no as user friendly. Windows 8 is promised to have a sudo-Mac experience with the Windows functionality, but we need to see it, and we really dont need a freaking app store for a PC OS.

As for GFWL vs Steam. There should be no argument that GFWL needs to jsut be scrapped completely. Its worthless software that offers nothing to the individual PC gamer that Steam and Impulse do 1000% better. Even if you dont use Steam or Impulse and download titles from D2D or even Amazon there are programs like Xfire that allow for chat with friends with friends list, clan functions, and voice chat as well as Windows Messanger and AIM chat support. All for free, and less resource hungry I might add.

Oh. Did not notice this one.

Linux and games, blah.

OSX and games, blah.

Windows and games, yeah.

Windows = superior os for all gamers. Do I give a crap if you think that linux is better for programmers? No, I don't. I think I can be called one and I prefer windows environment. Do you know why? That is where the money is. Do I give a crap about OSX allegedly loading programs faster than windows? No. If you use the same amount of money for a mac and a pc, pc will always be faster.

All in all, Windows 7 is a great OS and definitely the best one for all gamers.

And sorry, I just don't share your opinion on GFWL vs steam. I think steam is a pile of sh*t and it should be scrapped. I just don't see anything good about it. With the exception of some rare good deals.
