But wouldn't you say that it's a bad thing that people are still thinking that? Granted that some of it is just internet bias noise, but some of it could reflect an ignorance even in forum-dwellers that could easily apply to the average consumer as well. Whether it's the same or not is irrelevant, and in this case it's more important that they're indistinguishable (as opposed to your counter-example of Wii vs GameCube), because this is going out to the consumer, who has no obligation to understand the differences in anything (especially between a product that's been 3.5 years on the market, and one that remains unreleased and is visibly similar) whereas its the job of software engineers to know how Wii is superior to GC. |
the consumer is under just as much obligation to learn about the product's they buy..it's a case of would you operate a bandsaw with out reading the instruction's on it's operating safty?
it seem's some do not and there are injury's because they did not read up on it's safty.
that's i think is the large part of the problem, many people are in such a hurry these day's instead of waiting that they overlook the very basic's of the product.
or what the product may or may not be able to do.
quite many are fully ready to jump to conclusion's without taking a step back.
like for instance not very many go to a store and know what the full capabilities of the PC's or laptop's spec's mean's .
have you ever been asked by someone you know what's the spec's mean for a PC they were looking to buy?
that's a big point not very many people take the time to learn or understand the technology they just want to go..their in a hurry, that is why you have the saying :
Why is patience a virtue?
Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forbearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped the gun and found out it would have been better to tolerate delay or had self control? What did we miss out on? Did we hurt someone we love because of lack of patience? Having patience will heal the wounds and it will work itself out fine. Patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.
*also all good things come to those who wait, which I guess is answering your question by saying the same thing. Only differently. I've rushed things countless times only to find if I would have paced it out and picked my shots things would have worked out a hell of a lot better. Dig?
