No, no they don't. Take this year as an example-
Halo Reach- we knew about it last year
Fable 3- we knew about it last year
Crackdown 2- we knew about it last year
Splinter Cell Conviction- we knew about it 4 years ago
Alan Wake- we knew about it when fire was cutting edge tech
Whereas Littlebigplanet 2- Released 6 months after annoucement.
Of course there's GT5, the point is their announcement strategies are just the same. Nintendo are the only ones to routinely announce major games soon before release.
