Doubt it will matter a great deal. Just got Mass Effect 2 myself, having never played Mass Effect 1, and its still very good. Although it might suffer as it doesnt have an existing fanbase


Kind of agree.  I know some think it's a huge thing, but having played both on PC I actually didn't feel it made that much difference.  Admitedly I found ME to be somewhat overrated in terms of story and innovation, but I felt ME2 was a much better game.

I'm more curious on what you might term a technical level - i.e. what mechanism are Bioware going to use?  A new intro sequence or the like or something more interesting or ambitious, such as some form of interactive intro where you select some key decisions from ME1 and have that play into your ME2 start.
