The X360 is the standard console in this generation. The majority of hardcore console gamers play on Xbox.

We will end this generation and start the next when nearly 70 million X360s have been shipped worldwide. Until then we only need to acquire a couple of good game studios to complete the exclusive lineup.

Xbox 3 is going to be huge.

Seriously...lol. Slime you need to not use sweeping generalisations or be careful in how you word things. Xbox isnt the standard console in this generation. Standard would means something like the one thats sold the most on average (at the very least).

I wouldnt say that the majority of hardcore gamers play on the Xbox 360 either. I play on the PS3, i am hardcore, but there are many more. Also can you ignore Wii, you may not call it hardcore, but there are people who would consider themselves hardcore gamers who love nintendo games (I certainly dont like Nintendo games, but i fully understand that situation). So really silly generalisations.

As for the OP, I personally think MS need more 1st Party Studios or MS backed games companies, they seem risk/cash adverse right now (perhaps because of Kinect and thats where they are pushing right now), they definately need to approve another Alan Wake, those guys may have not sold lots in the first version, but they have got the tech and could easily create another game at a very much reduced price, whereas getting a studio to start from scratch would be just as costly. I just dont think 3 major franchies are enough, though there is alot of love for Halo, which counts for alot in the USA market, but they dont want to do a Modern Warfare and drain its IP. I think 2-3 games per generation max (along the same lines) is probably best (always depends on how long this gen goes on for).
