With an extra $3.50 per ticket, on top of the already expensive ticket price, I would expect a backlash.  Some theaters only show the 3D and not giving the option of 2D.  I'm not willing to shell out that much each time to see a movie.  Avatar was my first 3D movie that I've watched and I enjoyed it.  However, I also own it on Blu-ray and it is better imo cause I can focus on the movie and not worry about my eyes hurting or getting a headache.
