I don't think images of people waggling in vain are the way to go with this... Frankly, I find that, in a lot of cases, traditional controller-based gameplay is superior to Wii Waggle--especially when said waggle is either illogical or fundamentally broken.

Anyway, I think it's surprising that people are still upset when someone points out that the Wii isn't a graphical powerhouse.  True, it's not a refurbished GameCube, but it is typically jus a supercharged GameCube.  Nintendo's own people have, themselves, said so much.

I think some of you are just really stretching to hate one guy from UbiSoft.  Settle down, and stop taking this shit so personally.  Why does it always seem to go like this:

Dev from 3rd party studio: "We're basically used to developing on HD systems these days and have gotten into a groove where it's almost easier making games there than for the Wii.  The Wii's general lack of power just makes some things more difficult to program and write, and there are restrictions we don't have elsewhere. We can't even use current-gen game engines on there."

Angry Nintendo fan: "YOUR MOTHER!!  Your games suck anyway!  He just hates the Wii, and therefore vicariously, he hates me and he called me gay and kicked my dog!  How dare he point out that the Wii isn't as powerful as the Xbox360 or PS3!  How dare he have an opinion on game development from a developer's point of view! I know better, I'm a consumer!"

This is just nothing to be outraged over.  Also, this post is nothing to be all outraged over because there is some sarcasm buried within.  Luckily, there's an upcoming hot Metroid injection that should cool some nerves.

So... if you admit that what the guy said isn't true, why are you defending him? The key point of his statement was the 'refurbished Gamecube' part. Had he just said 'the Wii isn't as powerful as PS3/360', then nobody would have batted an eyelid, other than to say... well, duh.

Oh semantics, thou is truly a double-edged... thing-a-ma-jig.  All I disagreed with was the term "refurbished," which I would typically read as "rebuilt and functional like new."  That's why I use "supercharged."  The Wii is just GameCube hardware with some extra torque.

My big point is that this is pretty clearly set-up as a bitch-fest against "another person who hates/doesn't get the Wii."  Essentially, what the guy said is true, I just disagree with his terminology.  And I understand how he could be frustrated with the thing.
