You know, beleive it or not but some people really do stab other people because they're muslims (or black, or mexicans, or gay etc.). It's because of thinking like yours that it's almost impossible to convict someone of a hate crime (even when it's plain obvious that it is a hate crime)

I tend to agree with you, but we cant be sure. I heard its somewhat common for cab driver to be attack in new york.

True, quite true. It's not great being a cab driver in NY, but when an attacker screams anti-muslim/jew/mexican/gay words without so much as robbing the cab driver or anything, I think it's safe to say that it's a hate crime.
