Exactly the same reason OP thinks move wont have a massive effect on PS3 hardware :P (ie hope)
Anyway, I feel dirty saying this, but I do have to agree with the statement that the PS3 will not catch up to the 360, but I'm not going to make a big deal over it. The two are clearly going to be extremely close in total install base for the entire generation. They will be so close infact, that saying one is outselling the other is pretty insignificant.
