I think we're getting a bit confused on Madden for a sec. Madden 9 was non-cartoony, but was re-branded as "All Play" which probably deferred sales in some point because consumers thought it was a different game. EA took the exact wrong lesson from that, and decided to differentiate the game visually as well, and given that they don't seem to be acknowledging 11 Wii's existence beyond it actually existing, don't seem to care.
