Well, well, the trailer is simply amazing and I just can't stop watching it. What's the relationship between the blonde guy and the main character (who I asume is the black-haired guy)? If this game is being made by Namco Tales Studio, then it can easily become one of my Top 3 games of all time (1st: Tales of The Abyss 2nd: Tales of Symphonia 3rd: Dark Cloud 2).
I think all this discussion is pointless for the true Tales of fan. A true Tales of fan will buy the game regardless of the console it's released on, and the console itself. I have a Wii, so I'd really, really like it to be for the Wii, and many signs indicate this is for Wii so I'm very happy about that; but if it'd be for the 360/PS3/both, I'd buy the console and the game. Plus, that's another excuse to buy the console and I'll be able to play more games huh?
Being a fanboy is the silliest of things. I'm a Wii fan, meaning I like the Wii more than the other consoles for the fact that I don't have the other consoles (but I'm sure I'd still like the Wii a lot more) but you will never see me talking ill of the Xbox 360 or bashing the PS3.
The only discussion in this topic should be: A) Who's the developer behind the game? (Hopeful answer: Namco Tales) and more importantly B) Is this game coming to America?
Now, for those who are not Tales of fans, I can understand them wanting the game on the Wii/Xbox 360/PS3 and I can also see why people debate about it, I have to say it's very interesting and sometimes fun seeing you all argue about it but in the end: are you going to buy it? I am, if it comes for the Wii. I am, if it's for the Xbox 360/PS3.
On the other side, I do want it to be for the Wii because of the userbase. This doesn't affect me but I feel there are bigger chances of this game coming to America and NOT being a flop than if it's for the 360 or the PS3. Remember, if this game flops in America, even fewer Tales of will come. Tempest will never come to America because it flopped in Japan. That means that success in Japan is also very important: The userbase of 360/PS3 in Japan is small when compared to the Wii. Besides, a Tales of game is already coming to Wii. That can boost sales, as well as it could take sales from this game.
I also see other people arguing that this game is not for Wii because of a Wii Tales of already in development. So what? The Tales of in development for Wii is Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk, a spin-off the Tales of series. Besides, this doesn't mean they're going to be right next to each other in release. ToS: KoR should come out, at MAX, in June. Tales of Vesperia could very well come out in late November/early December, or what I think could happen, be pushed to 2009. All of this in Japan. How does this affect America? ToS: KoR will surely come to this side of the planet because of the fame ToS had. After that, sales of ToS: KoR will majorly influence the decision to have Tales of Vesperia be brought here. But only if it's also for the Wii. If it's for the other 2 consoles, sales of Eternal Sonata will, not sales of the Tales of spin-off.
EDIT: Something very important escaped my mind while writing this: Hey guys, how about Namco has yet to decide the console? That would explain the two versions of the trailer and the decision not to show what platform it's for yet. The roadmap would be the only thing to destroy this theory but think: What if the roadmap only shows Tales of whose console been announced? I know it doesn't make much sense but at this stage anything could happen....
In the end, I will buy the game regardless of the console if it comes to America. That's my only worry: It HAS to come to America. That's what's got to be discussed. Thanks for reading all of this (if you did) and remember: I may not be an active poster but I'm a hell of a lurker.
See you!
