It will be ironic that the developed world may one day be making consumer goods for the Chinese people to consume.

That's actually happening, China is now the biggest market in front of the USA for the luxury brands. On the big eastern towns, there are high salaries with high consumption of imported products (cars, skin cares, perfumes, wines).

For the debate, actually, China is tend to transform for a sole manufacturer to be also a leading country in research (they trained more engineer than any other countries, they are the 3rd country to be able to put man in space by themselves, even Europe and Japan haven't do that), many big companies built R&D center in China. For this they follow the trend of the "Dragons" (South Korea, Taiwan...) that start to be solely cheap manufacturer to be now developer of goods.

Personally what's made me sad is that people in China tend to want to be and live as North American people, forgetting little by little their 5,000 years history to be as a country with no history.

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.
