Both games are perfect examples of an RPG. There are some aspect of FFXII i liked and some of FFXIII's. For instance the battle system of FFXIII is the best in the series. But at the same time having being able to use one character at a time makes it a little restricted. One thing i din't like about FFXIII is that it is a very small game compared to most of the FF's. You can complete it in 70 to 100 hrs and that's not enough at least not for me.
And you can't possibly forget the awesome graphics this game has.
On the other hand FFXII is a very lengthy game. There is alot to do in the game. Loot system and Treasure system add whole lot of anticipation for the rare drops and rare items. Not to forget the Quickening system. Techniques, Strategies and many more things are to be considered.
