I think that Amano's artwork are very good for games for Nintendo plataforms, like DS, it would match perfectly.
But for Playstation Nomura is better. Old artworks would not combine very well with recent FF graphics. In the past, these artworks were matched because you actually had to have imagination to play a game. But in current's gen, I like the great CGI better.
Amano have a good talent, but not for FF anymore IMO. A new IP is the way to go.
Actually i think his artworks would be PERFECT for Monster Hunter.
