Same old MS tactic, leak early, issues bans, sell new hardware.

Yes becaus Ms purposely leaked the game...*rolls eyes*

Coincidence it always happens to a big game (Halo, Gears) near christmas when people buying lots of hardware including for others and is followed by bans, but when a leak happens during other parts of the year no bans seem to occur.

Odd that the consoles get banned but not the gamertag also.

Yes because the hackers get paid by MS to pirate the game...that makes a ton of sense. And banning the gamer tag is stupid, you could just get a new account everytime you got banned and go back to using your hacked console. The gamertag is NOT hacked, the console is. it makes sense to ban the console, you know, the thing that is hacked?

I'll just point out that the leaked version will only run on JTAG 360's anyway, not on retail units with flashed drives.  As a JTAG box will be flagged banned within hours of going online I don't think this was some strategic release unless they're looking to ban gamertags of people who play copies offline on their JTAG box then take their gamertag back on  Live on a retail box.

In this instance at least you're safe to take off the tinfoil hat KylieDog.
