Although I agree that Dead Space became a little repetative it still managed to maintain a very tense atmosphere through out for me and definately gave me numerous 'jump' moments up until the end. I think that game has the best use of surround sound I've come across yet (also made myself play the whole thing in the dark which at 24 years old shouldn't make a difference but it still does!).

I thought Alan Wake held a tense atmosphere for the first chapter but then itself became very repetative and although I enoyed the story and game it didn't really manage to maintain that same atmosphere that it created at the start.

Never really been into horror style games but really wish I'd given Silent Hill a go :(

Grr...............

I missed most of the decent games on the PS1 and PS2, didn't even know games like Silent Hill, God of War, Ico ect exisisted back then. Here's hoping for a Silent Hill collection!
