I can make a meal for four with less than £10 (example: stir fry mix veg pack, noodles or rice, sauce and tofu). Mc Donalds costs more than that (about £4.50 per person).
People can't be bothered to cook, have huge portions, they don't move enough (I'm guilty of this though, I admit) and they are stubborn about food. "It doesn't taste as good... whine whine whine" It makes me think of children that only want candy! The reason junk food are so "tasty" is because it's highly processed, filled with empty calories, fat, sugar and salt. It's a recepie for not only weight gain but addiction.
Well after eating healthy for a while, you realise how much better real food is and how disgusting the junk is.
But one note, I personally would never insult or look down on someone who's fat. I won't lie, I don't find it attractive and I wouldn't ever want to be like that but it's not a reason to be mean. All you can do is encourage them to adopt a healthier lifestyle and support them. It is not insulting to do so. I share my cooking tips with people and tell them to eat small amounts of food throughout the day instead of huge meals. Show them you care about them and that's why they should lose weight, to be around the people they love for longer.
I think the reason why people are so angry about it is that it's not a hard issue to solve. The solutions are normal sized healthy food and a 30 min - 1 hour walk everyday.
