The main reserves of the iberian lynx isn't in Portugal, is in the South of Spain, in Doñana, and it's the only place where there is breeding. Check your facts before criticizing. And what Tomatito said is true, those bulls are really costly to breed, so it's not profitable without bullfights. The species would disappear. |
I love how you get your references from Wikipedia, which only references a currently non-functioning organization in Portugal, while not giving credit to over 6 different organizations that have been working since 2006 to create the largest breeding space to the Iberian Lynx, which won the 2010 award for one of the best ideias for nature salvation.
And don't confuse reserves with breeding grounds. Breeding grounds are very minute, while the species itself lives dilluted and controlled in various parts of the iberian peninsula.
And why should saving a species have to be profitable?
