Oh yeah, on a completly personal level Bungie is my favorite developer in the world. The amont of interaction and dedication they have to working with their fans and actually giving us above and beyond what we ask for is the reason why Bungie has such a dedicated following. Its the reason why even 3 years after launch Halo 3 is still played online more than new games like MW2 often.
Bungie doesn't add gametypes and Forge and Firefight and etc just to say oh look how many things we can put on the back of the box. All this stuff is things their community has asked for and Bungie really wants to make the best possible experience they can for the players. I mean like I said Halo 3 came out 3 years ago and still every single week the playlists in matchmaking are updated and new playlists added.
PS3 only fans are in for a real treat when they play their first Bungie game and I'm excited to see what they do next! The only thing i HATE is that they joined with Activision.

With the Activision deal, it is a publishing deal? Do Activision have any control in terms of what Bungie can do?

No thats the one plus Activision is publishing only and in fact Bungie is such a powerful developer that apparently they negotiated a deal where if they feel pressured at all or like Activision is overstepping their boundaries they have complete freedom to just pull out of the deal. Brian Jarrad from Bungie flat out stated that the new IP is 100% in their hands and being completly internally developed.
In fact I almost wonder if this new IP is actually an MMO since the activsion deal is for 10 years. That's a long time.
