When has bots, I often get more playtime out of bot matches than the actual campaign.

 

FPS campaigns = predictable, linear, short. Once you beat it, all the surprise is gone. "Let's take cover behind these red barrels!"

Multi = unpredictable, way more "holy shit" moments, shit-talkers on the enemy team provide entertaintment/motivation, many shooters are adopting some kinda leveling/experience system to keep you coming back for more.

 

Props to shooters like MGS4/Fallout3 - once you're done with their campaigns, there's actually reasons to go back and play again for unlockables......that arn't trophies.....
