They could be there, but you'll probably have to populate the game yourself, like in Uncharted 2.

Personally, I like the change. I hate hate hate server lists. They make the online experience feel severely disjointed, and matchmaking is so standard now, it's just laziness not to include it. Ideally, the game would have both, but I'd much rather have matchmaking than those god awful server lists.

Can you explain what you mean by saying "... the online experience feel severely disjointed"?

Can you elaborate more on specific features of server lists that make you hate them?

I'll try

All the server list does, IMO, is add another layer of confusion. All the way through, I've been treated to a sleek interface, in which it is clear what to do. Then suddenly, this giant mess comes up, with information I don't need or care about, and I suddenly have to make a conscious decision about which server to join. Do I join the 28 player one, or the 30 player one? What, exactly, is the difference between those two? Why is that server name in Japanese?

I would much rather go through a matchmaking service which knows what it's doing and puts me in a suitable match.

You can filter the server list in the options menu. Isn't it great that you can see that a sever has a Japanese name? That way you know that you're going to be playing with JP players. As for 28 and 30 example, I say a better example is a 15 out of 32 server vs 28 out of 32 server.

If you really hate making decisions, why not just randomly select a match from the list? Didn't Killzone 2 in fact, let you essentially do match making? You pressed Triangle I believe and depending on your filter settings, they put you in any avaiable game.
