I'm assuming you haven't played them, or at least played the 360 or PS3 version if one exists. Let me show you the error of your ways.
Half-Life's story and exposition and single-player are far surperior. The game just has better mechanics.
Portal does puzzling and humor better.
CS:S and TF2 do multiplayer better.
Crysis's pacing (until halfway through) is much better.
AA3 is forgettable, but AA2 isn't technically this gen, so I just put AA3 in there.
F.E.A.R. 2 did health and shields better.
Far Cry 2 did no specific thing better.
Stalker does immersion better.
UT3 does fast paced, arena-based, combat better.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Halo fan, I truly am. I'm just not a Halo 3 fan. I'm a big CoD fan, but I'm not a fan of the MW sub-series. Both of those have what I call "quality by popularity." Despite being inferior and nothing special, they are more well known than the better games. Thus they are perceived to be better by the general masses, many of whom are either misinformed or ignorant (not suggesting that you are either).
