Even if it is legit, Sony could start putting firmware updates on game discs that would be required to play those games which would negate this completely.
Sony might have to give back Linux though

Firmware update on disc is a good idea for that specific game
abt LInux,nah not happening

Never say never, do you really think Sony would rather have this far more simple hack to be out in the public instead of that complicated hardware hack that was never finished and not even released to the public? So they swallow their pride and admit they are wrong, and put an end to quite a few lawsuits as well.
And I was refering to PS firmware updates, not game firmware updates for specific games.

so you saying they will compromise one for the other..........lol
and you think just because hackers would have one hack, they wouldn't develop other
Team Hades has already Dumped the PS3 Blu-ray drive on PC and now assembling people for it to work on the PS3
I KNOW YOU weren't referring to PS formware update,i just said game firmware for the new games

How so? The software that this runs on could also be updated/patched to work with new firmwares. And if they start putting updates on discs (which they have already done at least once), how would that stop anything since the entire contents of the disc would be backed up and then ran as if it were a legit copy?
Just like with other things that get jailbroken, it doesn't take long to beat new patches/firmwares with a new jailbreak.
|
If they require the firmware to be installed to play the game, it would stop this, putting the entire contents of the game on the hard drive wouldnt do you any good unless the firmware update was installed.
Plus its not jailbroken, its hacked, they are aiding piracy with this and what they are doing is illegal.
|
What I am saying is the firmware update could still be installed because it would still be on the external hard drive and appear to the PS3 as if it were running off of the disk. If that firmware breaks the current jailbreaking system, then yes it would work, but only until a new/updated jailbreak comes out.

so what else would sony do?
ofcourse they will try to break the hack with their firmware
