I wouldn't make your buying decision on 3D as it is now. Its so hopelessly wrong in its current form. You shouldn't have to spend 100's on glassess for each person to watch the 3D effect.

I would purchase a lower priced quality TV.

Keep in mind that LED is an LCD tv. If you are looking at the ultra thin LEDs then there is no difference in potential picture quality to any older style LCD tv. However, the LED tvs that are backlit will look better as they can produced better blacks similar to Plasmas as they can actaully turn off any individual pixel.

I bought a 46" $800 Sony from Costco in February and haven't seen any difference between it and any other TV in any store yet. Considering I only own a PS3 and Avatar on bluray and Avatar is currently a hit in every store display, its an easy comparison.

I have a 4,6,and 7 year old and I wouldn't give them $100-$200 glasses to wear to watch a movie. Plus it would cost me at least $500 in glasses alone for my family, but more likely a lot more.

The package deal comes with 4 glasses. I don't plan to have to buy any more than that.
