Musts: $50 Price Cut and bring 160-320gb models(including White 160gb model) to America and Others

Not needed but would help: announce Resistance 3 and ICO and SOTC HD, Splinter Cell Trilogy HD, Prince of Persia Trilogy HD

Announcements don't sell consoles. Resistance 3 being the 3rd game in the series won't sell consoles. Ico and SOTC were niche games on PS2, they'll be niche on PS3. Dunno anything about Splinter Cell trilogy, but by the looks of the SC games already on PS3 it probably wouldn't do much for HW sales. PoP seems like a franchise past its time.

Sony doesn't need to do anything right now, given 360 is enjoying a pre-holiday boost from its clearance sale and new sku. And it would seem that Wii is suffering more from 360's high sales than PS3. 360 will ride that wave into the Spet/Oct period when sales start climbing naturally (360 will more or less stay at it's end of Aug sales level) and both Wii and PS3 will reel it back in as their sales also start to rise to meet and in the case of Wii at least, over take it. Reach will have a 2 week boost affect at most, and it won't be huge like the 360s launch. It'll come down to whether Kinect moves HW or whether it mostly sells to existing 360 owners. Once Sony knows what effect Kinect has on 360 sales it can then decide what it needs to do to keep get back to growing it's market share.

Makes sense.

yeah i think your right, no need for a price cut at the moment. even if 360 outsells PS3 this year, it wont be a fatal blow. personally i think move needs to be cheaper to encourage on the fence potential buyers. the big thing that could change the game completely is if exclusive IPs like Mass Effect were to come over to the PS3. the reason i say ME because microsoft sold EA the distribution rights and EA arent interested in exclusives, not to mention the game hasnt been a system seller on the 360. other than that, EPIC did also mention they regret having an exclusive contract with microsoft for Gears... so i think that if Portal 2 proves to be a success on PS3, we could be in for some supprises next year!!!

So you are saying Mass Effect would be a PS3 seller but not a 360 seller? And Epic regrets selling 10 million copies of the Gears of War series? If thats the case then every single dev regrets being exclusive on the PS3 since Gears has sold more than any exclusive ip on the PS3. Try using some logic before typing.

it appears 'logic' dosent appear in the 360 fanboy vocabulary. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=232359

http://www.next-gen.biz/news/epic-it’s-getting-harder-to-remain-independent

theres probabily more stuff out there. and i'm sure edge reported at one point that epic publically stated they couldve addressed a much larger market with gears had they have not signed the contract with microsoft. but i cant be bothered doing the leg work for you!!

and yeah i am saying that Mass Effect on PS3 would be a huge come back, because RPGs sell on the console. by launching Mass Effect on the PS3, sony give bioware a massive oppertunity to market in Japan, something microsoft cannot do. not to mention the western sales of FF13 and other RPGs tend to be more successful on PS3 than 360. Mass Effect 1&2 have sold a lot less in the EU than in the US, so i think theres also an oppertunity there for the PS3 to make a come back with a strong IP, that hasnt enjoyed as much success as in the US with the 360.

thats right, games sales outside of the US are also important!... "try using some logic before you type"

PS. popularity is also very important, not just sales. Gabe Newell of Valve announcing Portal 2 for the PS3 was a huge hit for E3 and the fans. even though that might not become the next 10mil seller, its still a comeback for the console.

Sorry but Mass Effect isn't a JRPG with prepubescent characters running around with magic powers trying to save the world. A WRPG is not going to sell in Japan even if it was on the PS3.

I'm going to use some reverse logic on you since you like it so much. If Killzone released on the 360 it would have sold twice as much since the US is the biggest market for FPSs and the 360 has a much larger user base than the PS3. Guerilla Games would have been much more successful going the 360 route.

And now you are quoting Pachter with your links? Pachter thinks that Epic games "regrets" 360 exclusivity. There is not one single word from anyone that works with Epic studios quoting this. Once again your logic fails.

There is a link for you to read. If they really "regretted" it then they could just port Gears 3 over to the PS3 if they wanted since technically MS doesn't own the rights to Gears 3. Looks like Epic is perfectly fine with outselling any PS3 exclusive.
