Best old point&click adventure games:

- *The Secret of Monkey Island (if you're interested in it, make sure to buy the excellent HD remake called "Special Edition" which is available on PC/Mac/PS3/360)
- *Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (HD remake available on same systems as above)
- *The Curse of Monkey Island
- *Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle (playable on Windows with the free program ScummVM, a virtual machine for older adventure games, http://www.scummvm.org/)
- *Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (DL version available on http://store.steampowered.com/app/6010/)
- *Grim Fandango (I'm not sure if GF runs on modern systems, as it is not playable via ScummVM)
- Full Throttle (playable via ScummVM)
- Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars (playable on PC via ScummVM, enhanced Director's Cut only available on Wii/DS/iPhone, not on PC)
- Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror (DL version available on http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/broken_sword_2__the_smoking_mirror)
- The Longest Journey (DL version available on http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_longest_journey)
- Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers (DL version available on http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gabriel_knight_sins_of_the_fathers)
- Runaway: A Road Adventure (http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/runaway_a_road_adventure)

* These are the 5 best point&click adventure games ever made imo (I count Monkey Island 1 and 2 as one game)

BTW: On gog and Steam you can also find King's Quest and Space Quest collections (classics from Sierra, the company which invented graphic adventure games).

Good point & click adventure games from 2009 (besides Machinarium):
- Ceville http://www.ceville-game.com/en/index_en.html
- The Whispered World http://www.the-whispered-world.com/index.php?lang=en
- Runaway: A Twist of Fate (aka Runaway 3) http://www.runaway-thegame.com/?lang=sp
- The Book of Unwritten Tales (not yet, but soon available in English) http://www.unwritten-tales.de/en/

Best (and best looking) economic/building sim franchise with RTS elements at the moment and in my opinion:
- Anno 1701 and its successor Anno 1404 http://anno.es.ubi.com/pc/ (known as "Dawn of Discovery" in NA and for some reason often just called a RTS game by NA reviewers)
