This is equivalent to the US building a Japanese shrine dedicated to Emperor Hirohito at Pearl Harbor after the end of World War 2.
Shame on you Obama.

That is just about the most racist thing I have ever heard.
The bombing of Pearl Harbour was a decision made by the Japanese government in the 1940s. Emperor Hirohito represents Japan.
9/11 was orchestrated by extremists and terrorists who are despised by the vast majority of Muslims.
I don't agree with the building of this Islamic Centre, but only because it's a blatant move of political correctness, and I hate political correctness with a vengeance.
Moreover, this is some half-assed attempt to fix relations between the Islamic world and America, not any sign of genuine goodwill and feeling of equality, or he wouldn't be stressing the fact that it's two blocks away from Ground Zero.
It's moments like this in which I lose all sense of logic and really hope Obama is kicked out in two years.

Alright, if I rephrased it to "This is equivalent to the US building a Japanese shrine at Pearl Harbor after the end of World War 2," then would I still get the same racism charge?
It is well known that Hirohito was on the same level of influence of Hitler and Mussolini. Like Hitler and Mussolini, Hirohito embodied the Japanese people just as Hitler embodied the Germans and Mussolini embodied the Italians during their reign of power.
Yes, what I have said can and has been construed as racist. Well, I apologize for invoking Hirohito's name. I am not racist and never mean my comments to be construed as such. However, with a topic as heated as this, I sometimes have emotional, knee-jerk reactions just like everyone else.
If anything, we should put the whole 9/11 memorial Mosque up for a vote through the families of those 3,000 who died on 9/11. I am willing to bet that it would be voted down by a margin of 3 to 1.
