Look, in order for profitability to be maintained, Sony is going to have to keep up a certain level of new games coming out and that requires a certain level of dev support. Now if the 360 eclipsed the Ps3's sales for say a year or so, then this would be thought of as a more permanent thing, and you'd see a massive drop off in new games for the PS3 as developers would just prefer to use the 360/wii. So, in other words they have profitability now, but that is no guarantee for the future and it becomes increasingly doubtful if Sony can't get the numbers above a certain level eventually.
So, keep in mind that I basically said that dev support would be lost if this happens for an extended period of time, and mentioned a year in so doing. No joke post, but it sounds like you didnt understand. |
The PS3 has been outselling the X360 consistently almost all year and now there's a price cut/remodel which gives the 360 a BOOST (read: BOOST) which still hasn't leveled off. Sony also hasn't done anything to counter it yet. What makes you so sure that the events of a few weeks in a bloody 10 year life cycle will somehow change everything?
