I don't know whether this was a problem with the controller, a problem with mapping, or simply my own silliness, but the only problem I *ever* had with the GC controller was the C-stick while playing Baten Kaitos. For some reason, about once every battle, the wrong corner of the card would register, and a 5-number combo would turn into garbage.
Other than that, it's a great controller.
