Move in September, 160/320 price cuts in October, GT5 in November shall keep the momentum going nicely.

Good post, agree completely.  Sony is just going to have to realize that MS bringing the 360slim out is stepping up their game, and if Sony doesn't do something to counter-act that, then the P3 will become unprofitable within a year or so as developer support moves to the 360.  I think that a $50 price cut is waranted and will serve the PS3 well.  Remember this is a long-term thing, not a sprint.  Sony still has the opportunity to make profit from the PS3 but they need to ensure that they will be in a position to even do that.

haha, umm no. Sony will not become unprofitable now that they have reached profitablility unless they drop the current sku's to $200, which they will not do.

And No, they will not loose developer support at this point. E3 proved that Sony is actually going after more 3rd party exclusive deals than Microsoft.... is this a joke?

Look,  in order for profitability to be maintained, Sony is going to have to keep up a certain level of new games coming out and that requires a certain level of dev support.  Now if the 360 eclipsed the Ps3's sales for say a year or so, then this would be thought of as a more permanent thing, and you'd see a massive drop off in new games for the PS3 as developers would just prefer to use the 360/wii.

So, in other words they have profitability now, but that is no guarantee for the future and it becomes increasingly doubtful if Sony can't get the numbers above a certain level eventually.

So, keep in mind that I basically said that dev support would be lost if this happens for an extended period of time, and mentioned a year in so doing.    No joke post, but it sounds like you didnt understand.
