Depends on what is considered a flop. If the expectation is it will sell 20 million over 5 years then yeah it will flop hard. If we go for a more modest 6 million would that be a flop, I would suggest not as it would of recouped it costs. I suspect it will be around 7 to 8 million over its life which certainly cannot be considered a flop. You also have to consider that 8 million sales in a 3 horse console race is actually probably more impressive than its hay day totals in by gone revisions.
For me I think it would be considered a flop if it only sold 4 million which would still pay the bills but would make the promise of GT6 more unlikely. Having said that the chances of it only garnering 4 millions sales is extremely remote even the US sale point to a possible 2 million sales.
