wow, 7 years old. Amazing.

But really you don't need to spend 1300$ on a laptop to game, and you certainly should never buy from bestbuy.

You can probably get a really nice gaming laptop from acer for 800 or so. Just check all the models, or go on tigerdirect and look for laptops with a dedicated video card. 1300$ is way too much honestly, unless you're talking about australian dollars.

This one is only 949$.

and if you really want to spend about 1300$ look at this next one.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my old baby who died was purchased in 2002 right before I entered undergrad and died in December 2009 after I finished grad and got a job. I spent above a $1000 over the years buying $200 video cards, upgrading the ram, and upgrading the processor. Not to mention the hard drive gave out on me not a year before it died. Many good memories.

I like the Gateway as I currently have a $550 Gateway N78 laptop I bought last December. I have no complaints about my Gateway.

I've heard gateway quality has gotten a lot better, much like acer, and their prices are really cheap. ANyway, that laptop has like the 30th top mobile graphics card on the market. It's pretty sweet. I'd get it if I had a better job and had money and shit.

I did some comparisons and ended up purchasing the $949 Gateway Laptop for gaming. My current laptop is my 2nd Gateway, I have never had problems with a Gateway comp, and the $949 Gateway does have room for upgrades, which is a must for any computer I purchase.

I looked at Alienware, Toshiba, and Asus. All had good gaming laptops, but Alienware was wanting $1700 for their name and a 17 inch screen. No thank you, if I wanted an overpriced computer, I would have picked up a Mac.
